Generation Next Presents’, is an 8 part webisode series featuring live performance and interview footage captured at the launch of ‘Generation Next’, the premier music showcase for buzz worthy emerging artists from across the nation.

Episode 1 features footage of New Jersey upstart The ILLZ, shot entirely on location in Brooklyn, New York at the launch of ‘Generation Next’ which was hosted by Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg and also featured performances by TiRon, Skyzoo, The Kid Daytona, Game Rebellion, Ca$he, J. Ferb, Invincible w/ Waajeed, Sugar Junkie and DJ Quiz.

Firstly, I’m happy to see Ceelo garnering the attention he is with this single. It’s just what he needed to fuel interest into his upcoming album ‘Ladykiller’. His previous single ‘Georgia’, was ok, but definitely NOT the song that was going to get the machine behind him. So, as promised, the official video for ‘Fuck You’ has dropped, and I must say, it’s just OK imo. Maybe I’m being a bit nitpicky, but it doesn’t seem as “tight” as it should; the background singers/dancers aren’t synced, some of the “punchline” scenes don’t quite hit, and the video just overall doesn’t bring out the comedic aspects of the song as strongly as I’d imagined. All of that aside, I’m very much looking forward to ‘Ladykiller’ and I hope Ceelo has a follow-up single that will further bring him the attention he deserves. Check it out!

It’s no surprise that someone would take weed laced culinary a step further by combining it with actual meals. It’s also no surprise that a cannabis laced meal would come with the healthy price tag of $100 per 5 course. Read the excerpt below for a little info on how the idea originated:

The idea for Cannabis Catering came to Nesbitt when he learned that his friend’s diabetic mother had been diagnosed with cancer. “I would bring back edibles [from the dispensary], but they’re so high in high-fructose corn syrup that she was high off sugar rather than being medicated,” he says. So Nesbitt began experimenting with his own pot food–starting with mashed potatoes.

Previously I blogged about ‘All Delighted People EP‘, a project Sufjan dropped seemingly out of no where. Now, he treats us to the single from his first full-length LP is over five years, entitled ‘The Age of Adz’ (Pronounced Odds). The single is definitely more drum heavy than his older works, and to take it from the horses mouth, you can expect more of the same on the album:

The title The Age of Adz is a reference to the apocalyptic art of Royal Robertson (1930—1997), a Louisiana-based sign-maker (and self-proclaimed prophet) who suffered from schizophrenia. Robertson’s work depicts his vivid dreams and visions of space aliens, futuristic automobiles, eccentric monsters and signs of the Last Judgment. Portions of Stevens’ album use Robertson’s work as an idealistic springboard and a selection of Robertson’s drawings (his primary media were poster board, magic marker, and glitter) appear throughout the album art.

Fans of Sufjan, myself included, will undoubtedly have music to hold them over for the next five year hiatus. Cheers to that!

So they decided to flip Wu Tang’s classic “Ain’t Nothin To Fuck With” and let Justin Bieber to rock over it. But in order for this to work completely they had to get Raekwon on it for the older heads and Kanye West for the younger heads. It’s not quite like when Alicia Keys rocked over Brooklyn Zoo by O.D.B for her first album but…….yeah.

One of the worlds tinniest frogs was discovered in the Southeast Asian island of Borneo. Above is a picture of the frog on top of a penny, crazy right?

Adult males of the new species range between 10.6 and 12.8 mm – about the size of a pea. Because they are so tiny, finding them proved to be a challenge. The frogs were tracked by their call, and then made to jump onto a piece of white cloth to be examined closer. The singing normally starts at dusk, with males gathering within and around the pitcher plants. They call in a series of harsh rasping notes that last for a few minutes with brief intervals of silence. This “amphibian symphony” goes on from sundown until peaking in the early hours of the evening.
